Our institution was so lucky to be a part of a really meaningful conference last weekend, with focus on how do we adjust ourselves as European institutions in our meeting with migrant and refugee pupils from all over the world. The focus was on exchanging the best experiences in making a difference for a better and safer everyday for this diverse group of pupils. In every project we run, we must not forget to include this group of pupils, regardless of the different obstacles we may meet…instead of seeing the obstacles, we should focus on possibilities of inclusion in our common society! Wonderful experiences which I’ll definitely adapt into our organisation’s working programme with this project, in order to highlight the European and global DIVERSITY!
In most countries of the world Flash Mob is an essential part of the youth culture. The aim of the young is to pay attention of hurrying people or peers on the existing problems.
One of such events was organized in Debrecenas square on May 10. Passersby were able to spectate a sudden mobilization of young people, which aim was to draw public attention on today’s most popular issues (violence against children, troubles in the world) and that they care about it. Children from Gedminai progymnasium, Vetrunges progymnasium, Vydunas progymnasium, Children’s entertainment center, PI Edukateka and PI Hatora were involved in this campaign. This Flash Mob was a part of Erasmus+ (KA2) Strategic Partnerships between schools project “We are the world, we are the children” and “ANEN”, so students from Croatia, Greece, Romania and Turkey joined the dance.
On May 10, a project team from Klaipeda Gedminai progymnasium organized an international teachers’ conference “The Impact of Project Activity on School Community”. Its aim was to gather Lithuanian and foreign teachers to discuss the impact of project activities on the school community and to share the gained methodical, practical experience from various projects. Different subject teachers from Greece, Romania, Croatia, Turkey and Lithuania attended this conference. Our project “ACTIVE IN NATURE – ENJOYING THE NATURE!” – ANEN was also presented in this conference.
Our first mobility with the students took place from the 2nd of May to the 6th of May of 2016, as the starting point of the Program Erasmus +, ANEN: “Active in Nature, Enjoying the Nature”. Sixteen students and teachers from Spain, together with eighting students and seven teachers from Norway, France and Lithuania.
Our goals to achieve were: In the first place, that all the students meet each other face to face and begin to interact and develop their communicative skills; as second goal, their participation in several outdoor activities, such as beach volley, kayak and paddle surf, mixed in international teams; and finally, working in the app about Tabarca Island which is the Natural Reserve that the Project is based on, looking for information about its History and taking wáter pictures. Furthermore, improving the student´s creativity through different workshops.
The meeting was very successful. We began with the traditional “Welcome day” at the school, IES Leonardo da Vinci in Alicante. We enjoyed seeing the spectacular “batukada”, played by the group: “La ciudad de los colores” and we learnt a lot of things about eTwinning.
On Tuesday, we went to Muchavista Beach in order to learn to do Paddle surf and Kayak, with the colaboration of ALOHA SPORT school. At the end of the day, we had a volley ball competition and a traditional “Chocolate con churros” snack in the Chocolatería Valor , in the village called El Campello.
On wednesday and thuersday, we were in Tabarca Island. We could do snorkel, even though the weather consitions were not good enough, get information about its History and improve our creativity with the decorating stones workshop.

Last wednesday, 9/3/2016, the students of the PFCB (a basic studies for vocational training qualification) of Wood of our high school, IES Leonardo da Vinci of Alicante, took part in our program ERASMUS+, ANEN: “Active in Nature, Enjoying the Nature”, planting the tree that will symbolise the values of our project: Cooperation, friendship, tolerance and commitment to the environment.
Firstly, we explained them what the European Union and the ERASMUS + programs mean, especially, we showed the objectives and the activities that we are going to do during the Spanish meeting in relation to our project. The students loved the outdoor activities and wanted to participate in everything. Secondly, they made two murals about Tabarca Island and the olive tree.
It was one of the best experiences I have had as a teacher, because this is a group with special needs and they did their best, working hand by hand with other students of our high school. I loved their creativity and their enthusiastic attitude.
Finally, we went out to plant the olive tree with other students of the Project. Thank you very much, guys!

The high school, IES Leonardo Da Vinci de Alicante takes part in the European Program Erasmus+, ANEN: “Active in Nature-Enjoying the Nature”; its objective is improving the communication skills in English of our students of 2º,3º y 4º ESO, at the same time they improve their digital competences and encourage to respect and protect the Nature .
In this Project, four schools share experiences and work together (one from Norway, one from Lithuania, one from France and one from Spain). All of us worked in a previous project about Natural Parks and the results were fantastic. We want to continue to work in several items that we couldn´t end in the previous project, such us digital skills that remained outstanding, whereas, we would like to continue exchange ideas about innovation methodologies of teaching. In fact, one of our key principles is understanding the process of teaching-learning like a set of shared experiencies where it´s posible to learn enjoying yourself.
We want that our students are the real protagonists of the Project and do all outcomes, such as the materials for the web about Tabarca, the workshops and the outdoor activities.
In this context, we have done the first activity of the program: “The logo competition . In order to encourage the students to take part in it, we chose a symbolic award. We recived 13 beautiful logos about our topic, Tabarca. Most of them had a high quality.
The jury was made up for teachers involved in the project and gave the prize to Jenifer Mariova (2ºESO C). The quality highlighted in all of them and they were showed in the hall of our high school since 22nd of December 2015.
Klaipeda region’s educational institutions “Project Fair” was held in Gedminai progymnasium on 4th February. The fair was really fruitful – there were 55 projects presented from Klaipeda, Klaipeda district, Silute district and Plunge educational institutions. Students, teachers and various education related individuals from 30 institutions creatively presented school, national, international (Erasmus+, Lifelong Learning, eTwinning, Nordplus, the EU Structural Funds) project activities enriching school life and the whole process of education. Participant innovatively showed their designed products, demonstrated how they are continuing their project activities which have already ended. All the participants shared joyful mood, got new ideas, teachers and students discussed the success of the project, the impact on the institution community, funds, programs and partner search as well as project application and the whole project implementation. Honored guests of the event from The department of Education and Culture of the municipality of Klaipeda City, Klaipeda Teachers` Center for Culture and Education and Klaipeda Pedagogical Psychological Service were delighted by excellent presentations.
Probably the best assessment of the event was participants‘ impressions, experiences recorded on the evaluation wall and the questions „Will we be able to participate again next year?“
The prizes for the “Project Fair” attendees were established by Education Exchanges Support Foundation, JSC „Eurobiuras“ and PI “Edukateka
